Kern Ridge is the largest project Sunforge has delivered end to end: 42 MWdc of SF-580 Bifacial modules on single-axis trackers, feeding the Central Valley Municipal Utility under a 20-year off-take agreement.

Month 1–3: dirt work

Grading 214 acres while preserving drainage took longer than the racking itself. We pre-drove 9,100 piles with GPS-guided rigs — survey stakes are a thing of the past.

Month 4–9: the module wave

At peak, crews set 640 modules a day. Every string was IV-curve tested at commissioning; 41 modules (0.06%) went back for micro-crack rejects caught by electroluminescence imaging.

Month 10–11: energization

Grid protection testing, SCADA integration, and a final punch list of exactly 37 items. First megawatt-hour flowed 11 months and 4 days after groundbreaking — with zero lost-time incidents across 148,000 labor hours.
