Bifacial modules harvest light on both faces: direct sun on the front, and reflected light — albedo — on the back. On a white commercial roof or a gravel utility site, that rear gain can add 8–25% to annual yield without adding a single acre.

Where bifacial wins

Three conditions drive rear-side gain: a reflective ground surface, panel elevation that lets light reach the back, and single-axis trackers that keep both faces working through the day. Our Kern Ridge array combines all three, and it’s beating its P50 model by 4%.

Where it doesn’t

Flush-mounted residential rooftops leave no room for reflected light, so a premium all-black monofacial panel like the SF-450 Onyx usually pencils out better at home.
